Registering
In order to show your horses, now that you have them scored, you need to register them. There are two main reasons why we require registering:
a.) To assure judges that a horse being shown did come by it's scores legitamately, and be able to double-check if there seems to be a problem.
b.) To prevent the duplication
of names within a breed.
HOW TO REGISTER:
1.) DIVIDE BY BREED
ideally send a separate e-mail for each breed, but
if you only have one or two horses of each
sending them in one e- mail is
fine IF you CLEARLY note where you're
changing breeds.
2.) ALPHABATIZE your horses. This allows the person doing the registering to more easily check to see if a name has changed. Provide alternate names or stable abbreviation to add in the event a name is taken.
3.) Follow naming rules!
The exception to this will be the addition of
farm prefixes in the event of a repeat
name.
4.) Follow color rules for
breed. If you have a horse of unusual
color for the breed, drop me an extra note
about it, (and I may inquire on
the list). My "specialty" is Arabs, so
I may not know (yet) color rules
for other breeds.
5.) Aging horses only.
6.) Scores for BOTH
Halter and Performance MUST be included as well as
the specific categories, even if you don't
intend to show in both.
7.) Gender is *colt*, *filly*, or *gelding*.
Registrations MUST be sent in the following format:
Bar Pretty
1994 bay Quarter Horse colt
Dudestud (Machostud x
Machomare)
Prettymare (Prettystud x
Plainmare)
Breeder: Somebody
(generally considered to be the owner of the mare when the foal was born.)
Owner: Somebody Somewhere
HALTER:
H -
15 B - 14 L - 16 M - 15 T - 11
TOT - 71 C - 20
PERFORMANCE

15 CoM - 15
Entries not in the above format will not be registered. You will get an e-mail back asking that you correct the format and return them. PLEASE do not send or return ANYTHING with > or any other mark to designate a quoted part of a previous e-mail. I want to cut and paste and get your numbers back to you quickly, not spend time fiddling with things *G* I also double check the math. If I find a mistake (it happens) I'll let you know. You'll need to send me the correction back. Why? Because I know how easy it is to go "oh, okay" and file something to correct in records later, and then never get around to it. Having you get back to me simply increases the chances that it'll get corrected in your records too...so you don't send something wrong to a judge.
If it's your first time sending horses to be registered, inlcude your full address at the top of the e-mail. We keep track of addresses, but they won't be shown to the group without permission.
Please be patient about getting numbers back. Some weeks are better than others. If you haven't heard back for a week or two, do feel free to ask, however! Eventually we may have different people registering different breeds. And eventually we will have at least names lists up on the site!
